Being a homeowner, you surely want strong, durable, good-looking gutters. By opting for a standard gutter system, you ensure better drainage for your home. Thus, your rooftop and the complete home structure last long.

Often, people get confused between DIY and professional repair. Whether to call a gutter contractor or not- that is the question. Well, we suggest always hiring experts for such crucial tasks. But, if you are a DIY person, you can opt for that too. With a little more attention, the right tools, and in-depth knowledge, you can try to do it yourself.

Today, we will discuss the essential tools for installing and repairing gutters. Let’s learn about them.

The tools are-

• Cordless drilling machine
• Extension ladder
• Crimper
• Offset tin snips
• Duckbill tin snips
• Pop rivet gun
• Hex head driver

Now, how to use them properly? If you ask fascia contractor Layton UT expert, you can get an idea. If you do not have any experts around you, let us help you.

How to install gutters with the right tools?

• Plan first- Before anything else, plan the project. Measure the house and gutter areas. Decide the budget and act accordingly.
• Cut the gutter- You have to cut the front and back parts of the gutter using the tin sip. Now, bend it and cut the bottom area. Then, cut space of 2 to 4 inches in the front edge of the gutter. The rain gutter section will be joined here.
• Snap the sections- Next step is to snap the different sections together. Use gutter sealant for it.
• Rivet the parts- take six rivets and join the gutter to the corner. Drill holes at the front of the gutter. Use a rivet gun to install the rivets.
• Mark the downspout and cut the outlet hole- measure the areas and mark where you want to place the downspouts. Again, with offset spins, cut an outlet hole.

Do not forget to add gutter flushing, hook the gutter hanging straps, and attach elbows to the downspouts. Finally, crimp one end of the downspout and fasten brackets to the walls. Attach the downspouts to the brackets.

As soffit and fascia Sandy UT expert suggests, make sure to maintain the gutter properly even after repairing or replacing it.
