
India skipper Virat Kohli is ranked number 1 at the ICC ODI Ranking for batsmen. He has an impressive rating of 895. Next to him is his team member Rohit Sharma who served as his ODI vice-captain during the West Indies tour.
Virat Kohli was named as captain across all formats of the West Indies tour. During the final Test match in Jamaica, he earned his 28th win under his tenure as captain of the Indian cricket team. He surpassed MS Dhoni’s total of 27 Test wins.
Following the conclusion of the West Indies tour, Team India will face a new challenge. They will play against the South African cricket team in a home series that began on September 15. Both teams are now preparing for the upcoming event.
In the recent reports, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DCCA) will unveil a stand after Virat Kohli at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Kohli and the entire team will be present at the event.
‘The boys will be there when DDCA unveils the stand in Kohli’s name. The boys are assembling in the capital on Thursday before heading to Dharamsala on Friday’, a senior functionary of the BCCI said.
India and South Africa will play their first Twenty20 International match at Dharamshala on September 15. The second T20I match will be held on September 18, then the final match will be played on September 22. Kohli is named as the captain of the T20I squad. Quinton de Kock will lead the Proteas for the format.
The two teams will also play a Test series that will begin on October 2. The BCCI hasn’t named the Test squad for the red-ball cricket matches. Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis will lead the Proteas. Du Plessis is ranked number 4 in the recent ICC ODI Ranking for Batsmen.
