Clean and wipe them
Before you start with the packing it is advisable that you thoroughly clean small kitchen appliances. Clean and set them aside to dry. To avoid such a situation, wipe it down using a damp cloth. If you have enough time in your hands, use soap water to get rid of the oil and grease off the surface and let them dry.
Disassemble
For all the small appliances, it is best to remove any removable or loose parts before you start packing them. Tray of the microwave, blades of the micro-processors, jars of the mixer grinder, etc. should be separated. Keep them next to the appliance the smaller parts belong to so that, you can pack them together.
Find appropriate box
Find the box that will accommodate small appliances well. If it is near to its actual size it will be easier to pack them. The most appropriate container for the small ones will be their original boxes. Don’t put two or more small appliances together in one large box. This could bend the plates and blades of the equipment damaging them.
Wrap before you pack
Bundle up the cords of the appliances and tie them up with a tape or a rubber band. Use a piece of tape to stick the bundle to the side of the appliance. You can also seal the door of the device using a packing tape so that, they open and get damaged while being transported.
If the items are going to be stored in a storage facility, you can try using a shrink wrap, to avoid sticky marks on your device. Use a packing paper to wrap your portable gadgets with their components. You may need three layers of the packing paper to secure the fragile parts. Secure them in place tightly with the help of tape.
It’s time to box
In the box start by adding fillers. It can be anything, thermocol sheets, newspaper, packing paper, or even old bedsheets and towels will do. Once you prepare the nest, place the appliance into it carefully. Crumple the packing paper or bubble wrap to fill in the gaps to prevent it from getting damaged.
Seal it and label
Once you are done with the packing, it’s time to seal the box up. Be very particular about labelling the box so that, you don’t go about searching for the appliance once the household shifting is complete. Mark the box fragile so, your moving company would know to handle them carefully.
